Eddie Jordan believes his team will bounce back from the struggle its had in the last couple of years but admits Jordan suffered from losing its court case against Vodafone recently. Jordan lodged a case against the phone giant in regard to an alleged sponsorship deal that fell through but the judge declared the complaint was unfounded. The team boss really thought he had a case but now he just wants to put it behind him.

"When you're an entrepreneurial team and when you're in F1 as a private team, you have to be a good fighter, and if you're not a good fighter, you better pack up your bags," he told BBC radio. "Jordan has fought all its life and it will never stop fighting. It's a culture. And when you're a streetfighter you have to keep going, and we will keep going."

Jordan thinks the downturn in the global economy at the beginning of this decade didn't help the team but now he hopes the situation is changing: "I believe that is turning around. The trend around the world is for people saying: 'We have to get out there and get our marketing going or our brand isn't going anywhere.'"

"But who knows what's going to happen with the (car) manufacturers? This championship is either going to come a manufacturers' championship or a one or two of them are going to leave and the private teams are going to become stronger again. But until there is some evidence of where the manufacturers are going it is too early to discuss where we will be going as a private team."

As a privateer, Jordan has had a hard time with finances in the last year or two and admits to being concerned about the future unless the manufacturers in F1 come through with a cheaper engine supply. He is reportedly in discussion with Mercedes in regard to engines for next year but the current contract with Ford will not be easy to get out of. Nevertheless, Jordan will keep fighting.

"I will turn this around," he stated. "Every time Jordan is written off it is the best thing, because we inevitably bounce back. Whether it's divine intervention or just good luck, I don't know, but we always come back smelling of roses."
