Third and last F1 test day at the Paul Ricard HTTT
Preparing Canadian Grand Prix

Today at 7:00 pm the six teams training these last three days at the Paul Ricard HTTT, preparing the Monaco and Canada Grands Prix, have achieved a very intensive test work.

At 1:00 pm, during his last morning session lap, on the long track solution (preparing Montreal) Alexander Wurz, McLaren Mercedes' test driver, lost control of his single-seater, at over 300 Km/h (on the fastest part of the track), at the end of the "Verrerie" and at the breaking point of the "Ste Baume" corner.

No harm for Alexander Wurz who made a full check-up, as well as two X-rays in Paul Ricard's High Tech Medical Center, before going back to his team.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation (he lost right rear control). McLaren Mercedes and Michelin's engineers are gathering their efforts so as to identify the reasons that may have caused Austrian driver's accident.

In the afternoon, all six teams decided to run on the 1 Esc Short track solution (5,216 km), keeping the A' chicane (identical to Montreal chicane) and the "Petit Beausset" corner.

The 6 teams and the 16 drivers sharing the Paul Ricard HTTT these last three testing days will have accumulated over 8.662 Km on the 2D sc short track solution, preparing the Monaco Grand Prix and not less than 5.223 km on the 1E sc short and 2E sc short, chosen to prepare Montreal Grand Prix.
