Red Bull Silverstone test summary 2006-04-25/27

Red Bull Racing made the short trip from Milton Keynes to Silverstone for a three day test this week (Tuesday to Thursday).

David Coulthard drove on all three days, Christian Klien on the first and last and, on the middle day, Tonio Liuzzi was borrowed from Toro Rosso to complete a programme he had begun at Paul Ricard prior to the San Marino Grand Prix.

A quick summary of each day reads as follows:

Tuesday: DC had an engine problem, Christian ditto on the gearbox. It rained. The first of these three events was unexpected, the second was down to the gearbox components being at the development stage and the third, well it always rains at least one day a week at Silverstone.

Wednesday: DC's turn to encounter gearbox development problems, Tonio went for some interesting chassis modification to his car, caressing the barriers at Becketts at around 270 km/h.

Thursday: Christian ran chassis 1 following Tonio's accident and David had a far more productive day with both drivers putting in respectable lap times.

"Hidden beneath the problems visible on the surface, these three days have produced some very valuable data which should see us move forward in development terms in a few races time," commented Christian Horner. "The problems we experienced are all part and parcel of a development programme as we pursue more performance from the car."
