Mild Seven Renault F1 today began a four-day test in Valencia, Spain. With Jarno Trulli at the wheel of the new R202, and test driver Fernando Alonso driving last year's B201, the team conducted wet-weather tyre work on behalf of Michelin, running on an artificially wet circuit. Trulli's day was curtailed as he was feeling unwell, and he will resume testing on Wednesday 6 January.
Mike Gascoyne, Technical Director of Renault F1 UK, said:
"Once again, it was a useful day's testing for the team. Conducting tyre work for Michelin, we ran the R202 in the wet for the first time, and neither driver experienced any mechanical problems, although Jarno's illness ended his day early."
Mild Seven Renault F1 will continue testing tomorrow at Valencia. Jenson Button will drive the R202, in place of Jarno Trulli, while Fernando Alonso will continue work in the B201.
