Team Sauber Petronas started its three-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya today. Giancarlo Fisichella covered 86 laps in chassis C23-02 to set a best time of 1:16.570. He will continue tomorrow before Felipe Massa will take over on Wednesday.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Chief Race Engineer):

"Despite of the foggy weather in the morning, which forced us to postpone the start of our test for two hours, we finished our scheduled programme for today. In the morning we ran some mechanical set-up tests and assessed different front wings as well as several cooling configurations under high-speed conditions. Later we worked with Bridgestone on rear tyre constructions.

"Tomorrow we will conduct the same programme like today, whereby we will focus on Bridgestone front tyre construction work instead. Apart from this we also plan to carry out some brake tests."

Giancarlo Fisichella
Chassis: C23-02
86 laps, 397.922 kilometres
Best time: 1:16.570
