ATS Formula 3 Cup drivers races Assen
This weekend, the ATS Formula 3 Cup is celebrating its season halftime at Assen. On the Dutch racetrack, the fastest German single-seater series is going to hold the 9th and 10th rounds of its 2008 season. And the spectacle held on the TT circuit has got a special name: Rizla Race Day. Due to the free admission and the lot of promotion in the run-up to the event, it may be expected that the event will attract a crowd of some 40,000 spectators - just as it was the case in recent years.
For the young ATS Formula 3 Cup drivers, the big attendance figure represents an additional motivation as they love to demonstrate their skills in front of packed grandstands. "I'm massively looking forward to my home race," says Dennis Swart. The 21-year old resides in Amsterdam and hopes for the support of his friends. "Possibly I succeed in taking the ATS Formula 3 Trophy lead, at Assen. After all, Marco Oberhauser's lead over me amounts to just two points."
