Track layout revealed for Montreal Formula E race

The double-header will be held on a temporary street circuit to be located in the southeast area of Montreal, near the CBC/Radio-Canada headquarters and the famous Jacques Cartier Bridge.

As expected, the race will not be held on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, home of the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix.

Pole Position magazine published on its website the proposed 2.8km layout of the temporary street circuit, pictured above.

The pit lane and the start/finish line will be located on René Lévesque Boulevard, just in front of the CBC tower, between the Berri and Papineau streets.

The first two corners will be 90-degree right-handers and then the cars will come to a slower section made of corners 3-4-5 made of streets Panet, Notre-Dame and St. Antoine.

The cars will then negotiate another slower - and quite narrow - section with corners 6-7-8 on the St. Hubert and Viger streets. Corner 8 will turn right and lead the cars back on Berri street.

After a short straight, the cars will turn right to return on the main René Lévesque Boulevard. A chicane will slow down the cars before they reach the start-finish line and start another lap.

The maiden Montreal ePrix is scheduled for July 29-30 2017, and will be the final round of season three of the Formula E Championship.
