Kobayashi sets the pace in Germany
The Japanese Kamui Kobayashi (Prema Power Team) has clocked the best timed lap in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 tests held at the German track of Oschersleben.
A total of 28 drivers from 17 countries had been preparing their next appointement in Valencia (4-5 June).
Kobayashi has set the pace in Germany in front of no less than 25 drivers. Maximum equality in the Renault Sport supported category of 200 CV. Kobayashi (1.22.289) was heading a list of 11 drivers all packed in the same second.
The Nippon driver has topped the time sheets during both days, splitted in two sessions each day. Carlo Van Dam (SG Formula) follows Kobayashi's performance at only 0.2 tenths of a second. French driver Yann Claray, (SG Formula) has finished in top 3.
The current leader of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 after taking two strong victories in Zolder, Michael Ammermuller, has finished in 4th position. The Epsilon Euskadi driver Bertrand Baguette follows the German, becoming the 5th strong driver overall and tops the mileage ranking with a total of 229 laps.
