GALLES, JONES END PHOENIX TEST; 3 TEAMS SET FOR WEEKEND AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

ORLANDO, FLA., December 20, 1996 -- Cold weather Friday forced postponement of winter Indy Racing League testing at Walt Disney World Speedway. Testing continues Saturday and Sunday at the one-mile oval. Treadway Racing, with driver Scott Goodyear; and Bradley Motorsports, with 1996 IRL co-champion Buzz Calkins, are on hand. Team Cheever, with driver Eddie Cheever, is scheduled to arrive Friday evening.

PHOENIX, ARIZ. -- Davy Jones and Galles Racing put another 110 miles on their G Force/Aurora Thursday in wrapping up their test at Phoenix International Raceway. The team ended four days of Goodyear tire tests, running 306 miles.

OWEN SNYDER (Galles Racing Team Manager): "It just takes miles to see what problems you're going to have. The car looks real nice, real safe, very stable. We were fairly quick right off the trailer with it. G Force has gone to great lengths to make it easier (to work on). There are some nice detail things that make it easier. Once you get the setup for an oval, they're not going to change much except for wing settings and things. It should be pretty straightforward going track to track."
