G1 Racing Prepares for Honda Indy Toronto
The Hyundai racing team of G1 Racing are preparing for the biggest weekend on the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Calendar. The team has steadily increased performance and positions over the last few races and drivers Attrell and Anis have clearly demonstrated that they are moving into the ranks of the front-runners. The team will be competing at the Honda Indy Toronto event on the grounds of the Canadian National Exhibition.
Team Manager John Lockhart commented: "Building on a pole position from Mirabel last weekend we're looking for a top ten finish. Every weekend we're learning more about the cars and with improved handling and performance we believe we have the capability to be on the podium. We're also keen to perform well in front of our sponsors Castrol, Autotrader and Hyundai. The Honda Indy Toronto will be the ideal venue."
The G1 Racing team will be competing with two cars. Bob Attrell will be driving the #88 Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Sasha Anis will be in the #87 Genesis Coupe. Qualifying will be on the Friday where spectators have free admission. The first race will be on Saturday and 3:30 pm and Sunday's race will be at 9:30 am. Fans can expect to see some heart-stopping action as the Touring Car series has closely matched drivers competing in the same cars seen on the streets of Toronto.
The Honda Indy Toronto runs from Friday July 16 until Sunday July 18. More information is available at www.hondaindytoronto.com and touringcar.ca.
