NEW ADDITIONS BOOST CLIO CUP NUMBER TO 30
ROCKINGHAM will see 30 Clio Cup race cars take to the grid after two more drivers registered for the Championship after rounds one and two. Nick Adcock, who has three overall top-six Clio Cup finishes to his name, rejoins Total Control Racing. Ray MacDowall was in the number 27 car at Brands Hatch, which Nick now takes over.
In contrast to the experienced Adcock, newcomer Jeff Smith has no previous car racing history. The 42- year-old becomes the fourth car to be run by Team Pyro, which picked up a victory in round two with Ben Winrow. Chris Rice and Chris Law are Smith's other new team-mates.
Adcock's best season in Clio Cup came in 2005 when he finished fifth overall with five podiums, although he scored seven podiums on his way to sixth place in 2006. After one season away, the 43-year-old is back in an attempt to secure his maiden Clio Cup victory. He enters his fifth season of Renault Clio Cup racing at Rockingham.
Coastal Racing's Stephen Tyldsley, who missed the opening two rounds at Brands Hatch due to prior European karting commitments, makes his Clio Cup debut this weekend.
