KILLARNEY, CAPE TOWN <COLIN WINDELL>: Britain's Julian Bailey claimed his first AA Fleetcare Super Touring victory and gave Toyota its first win this season when he ran to victory at Cape Town's Killarney circuit on Saturday, sharing the podium with Chris Aberdein who won the second race.

In the first race, round 15 of the series, Bailey in the Toyota Minolta Camry was slow off the line and Chris Aberdein (Rothmans Audi A4), storming through from third position, hit Bailey then side-swiped Grant McCleery's Opel Vectra into the tyre wall under the Goodyear bridge - forcing the race to be stopped.

At the restart Bailey was again a bit slow off the line and McCleery took the lead. Bailey followed him for a lap but sneaked past under braking for Stannic Corner, the move bringing the two cars together and sending McCleery off. This let Aberdein, Giniel de Villiers (BP Nissan Sentra), Mike Briggs (Opel Vectra), Craig Baird (Envirocar BMW 318i) and Terry Moss (Rothmans Audi A4) through.

De Villiers then went off under braking while Aberdein enjoyed a rare spin, leaving Moss to beat Briggs for second place with Duncan Vos (BP Nissan Sentra) making a late charge into third ahead of Baird.

In the second race Bailey was again slow off the line forcing Audi drivers Moss and Aberdein onto the grass to get by while De Villiers' Nissan was hit from behind starting a chain reaction that took both Bailey and Moss out. Aberdein was then in the lead, holding this to the finish ahead of Shaun van der Linde (Envirocar BMW 318i), Briggs, McCleery, Hennie Groenewald (Scania Audi 80), Bailey and Deon Joubert (Motorplan BMW 318i).
