Renault Clio Cup front runner, Rick Pearson will contest round eight of the freeparking.co.uk Super Coupe Cup in a Renault 5 GT Turbo at Thruxton this weekend. Pearson will be run by his current team, Mark Fish Motorsport.
Pearson is a veteran of the Super Coupe Cup, having spent two and a half seasons in the championship before moving into the ELF Renault Sport UK Clio Cup for 2000. During his time in the popular series, he claimed one class victory and finished third overall in the 1999 standings. He will also be looking at how the series has developed this year as he is the chief executive of the sponsoring company, freeparking.co.uk.
"I am taking advantage of the four week break in TOCA to return to the Super Coupe Cup," he explains. "I am hoping to have some fun and lock horns with a few of my old rivals, including Steve Alderton and Johnny Mac. It will also be interesting to see how the series has developed since I left."
Mark Fish Motorsport are multiple Renault saloon champions and are currently the leading team in the Elf Renault Sport UK Clio Cup.
