Rick Treadway Racing update

Well, I've certainly been learning a lot during the past few weeks. Since passing my rookie test in Texas, I've been in Miami-Homestead FL, where the IRL runs in April, and at Phoenix this past week.

The 1-½ mile Homestead track was pretty flat, so you really couldn't go flat-out. You had to experiment with when and how much to lift or brake. With this being a new track for the IRL, we didn't have any setups or data to go on. My practice runs gave me some good experience giving feedback to the crew, since the car was not handling very well. We continued to make adjustments, until we had some good data for our other drivers.

I want to thank Jim Freudenberg and Kelley Racing for their help down in Florida. I appreciate it guys!!

In Phoenix this week, I got to work with a different team, PDM Racing. It was also really awesome with Arie Luyendyk giving me some pointers. This mile track was a lot tougher. Everything happens so quickly! Not a lot of room for error. I ran 200 laps! Wow! Needless to say, I slept well that night!

Everyone is pleased with my progress so far. I want to thank everyone whose support has made help make this possible. We are, of course; also busy trying to secure sponsorships for this season.

We are going to continue practicing in the Indy car. On Feb 24th, we'll be back in Homestead, FL for an IRL open test. We will again run the regional midget series at the the Speedrome, on Thursday nights, starting in May. We also hope to do some Supermodified races on the west coast. I'll let you know how things are going, and until then. . .
