Thomas returns to the FIA GT at Budapest

The Bolognese driver's summer tour continues

Budapest (H), 28 August 09 - After missing the 24 Hours of Spa and two months on from the 21 June race at Oschersleben, Thomas got back behind the wheel of the Corvette C6 R fielded by Team `Luc Alphand Aventures' - the squad has confirmed Biagi's drive until the end of the season. Biagi wants to make up for things in what will be his 17th event of the season! This comes after Sunday's unlucky race, in the LMS at Nurburgring, where his podium chances disappeared ten minutes from the end when a stray stone caused a wheel rim to fail.

"I am pleased to be back in the FIA GT's top category", revealed Biagi. "My aim is to repay the team's faith in me, in particular Philippe Poincloix, and allow them to go into the closing championship events with Xavier Maassen in the top three places. After a good few races in the Lola LMP2, I will have to adapt quickly to the style of driving in Gran Turismo. The cars here are heavier, they roll more and are less aerodynamic. I like Hungaroring a lot even if I get a few shivers down my spine when I think back to Felipe Massa's accident. So, I would like to send a big hello to the Brazilian driver and to Luc Alphand who I hope will get will soon get back into shape after his motorbike crash in enduro. I'll be waiting for you on the track, Lucho!"
