A POTENTIALLY DECISIVE VISIT TO FRANCE
After a sequence of two fixtures in eastern Europe, the 2008 FIA GT Championship calls in on France and Belgium before heading for the season's grand finale in Argentina. The eighth round takes teams to Nogaro in the southwest of France and, although AF Corse/Michelin is sure of taking the GT2 Teams' crown, the Michelin-shod Phoenix Racing Corvette C6.R can still hope to deprive the Vitaphone Racing Maserati MC12/Michelins of a fourth GT1 title. The outcome in both Drivers' championships is still very open.
Since its creation in 1997, the FIA GT Championship has only been to Nogaro on one previous occasion, and that was in 2007 when Michelin took the spoils in GT1 and GT2 with Corvette and Ferrari respectively.
