FIRST POINTS IN 2009 FOR PAOLO RUBERTI AT SILVERSTONE
Paolo Ruberti harvested a fourth place in the opening round of the FIA GT 2009 championship. The driver from Verona has been protagonist of the second stint, after his crew-mate Matteo Malucelli that started from the ninth place of the grid.
The safety car exit in the middle of the race turned out to be crucial for the final result and it negatively affected the outcome of the leading crew of BMS - Scuderia Italia, that was forced to lose half a lap to the front runners in the occasion.
Paolo Ruberti:
"A fourth place is useful for the championship even if we struggled more than what was to be expected. Without the safety car we would have probably achieved the podium but, still, we have to work on improving some solutions to aim at the victory ".
Classification sees Paolo Ruberti in fourth place thanks to his 5 points, 5 points short of the leaders Collard and Westbrook. Next round of the FIA GT championship is scheduled for the 16th of May on the Italian track of Adria.
