MAKE-A-WISH POLE AWARD INCREASED

TAMPA, Fla. (September 19, 1997) - Professional SportsCar Racing, Inc. (SportsCar) and Team MSI today announced the Make-A-Wish Pole Award has been increased and a year-end award has been created. The Make-A-Wish Pole Award now awards $3,000 to the Exxon World SportsCar Championship pole winner at each race, up from $1,000. In addition, the contribution to the local Make-A-Wish chapter goes from $4,000 to $7,000. The year-end award, which goes to the driver winning the most pole positions, is $10,000 and includes a trophy.
The Make-A-Wish Pole Award is sponsored by Team MSI and is made possible in part by Team MSI sponsors including Winchester, PVS Chemicals and Ryder. Team MSI is a new Exxon World SportsCar Championship team that features drivers Jeff Jones and Ross Bentley. In addition to making the $7,000 contribution to the local Make-A-Wish chapter, the team hosts a local Make-A-Wish family at each race.
