Moses Smith Posts The Fastest Time

Moses Smith posts "fastest time" in today's practice session at Pikes Peak International Raceway as the Star Mazda Series returns to Colorado's one-mile oval for the first time since 1999. Moses clocked a time of 27.967 seconds. Mike Anderson was second fastest with a 28.094. (The fast lap during the June 26, 1999 race was 28.032).

Moses, the points leader in the Star Mazda Series West Coast Championship was thrilled with his thirty minute practice session.

"Pikes Peak International Raceway is an awesome track, and perhaps the smoothest track I have ever driven. My HASA Pool Products Star Mazda is just awesome right now. Ron and the rest of the crew at R-Sport have given me a car that can run anywhere on the track, and the Goodyear tires are working perfectly."Qualifying will be held at 5:00 pm today for tomorrows race. That race will be tallied as round three of nine for the North American Championship, and also as round ten of eleven for the West Coast Championship.
