WKA: New Engine gets first win

CONCORD, NC-Briggs & Stratton recently introduced a new racing engine called the 'Animal' which will see competition in each National Four-Cycle series in the 2002 season. WKA and Briggs & Stratton introduced the class at the NAKC and Charlotte, NC racer Jason LaVere, who was testing an Animal motor for Robinson Speed Shop took the first ever win.

Josh Schiffler earned the pole with a 57.725 seconds lap and then lost the two-kart duel with Jason LaVere of Charlotte, NC by 32.578 seconds.

"The new Animal motor ran smooth and had plenty of power. It should be a very competitive class," LaVere said. "I more here to help Ronnie Robinson test this motor for Daytona," added the University of North Carolina Charlotte Junior.

Karting enthusiasts will be keeping an eye on this exciting new motor and hopefully will see a continuing interest and growth in the class.
