Local Option Classes Lined Up For OCR Pavement National

02.11.2009 - As if 23 national points classes and 2 Friday night Money races weren't enough, officials at OCR Action Sports Park and World Karting have gone 1 step further, make it 2, no 4!!! With the Hodge Racing Supply Nationals quickly approaching April 3-5 for the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series, WKA and OCR have added 4 Local Option classes for the season's first race.

In a continuing attempt to find a venue for everyone, local classes for Briggs Medium and Heavy, as well as Junior Sportsman 1 Champ have been added. The four classes will utilize the Briggs Flathead Engine, and run the Maxxis EL Tire. Briggs Medium minimum weight will be set at 350 lbs, and will compete on Saturday, while the Briggs Heavy drivers will race at a minimum weight designation of 375 lbs, running on Sunday. The Jr. Sportsman 1 Champ class will run a light and heavy race, Lite on Saturday, Heavy on Sunday. All classes will be included in on the Friday Practice format, as well as participate in the same race day procedures as the national points classes.

Temporary Memberships will be available at a weekend charge of $20. Entry fee for each Local Option class is $45. It is important to understand that Local Option Classes DO NOT count towards year-end national points and awards. They are strictly a local class for that race weekend.
