Badger Angell Park report

SUN PRAIRIE, WI, July 15---Scott Hatton set a new 25-lap track record, winning the Badger Midget Series Feature, Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway.The win was Hatton's third of the season, and bettered Dan Boorse's six week old track record by nearly three seconds.

Boorse jumped from the second row, and into the lead at the start, pacing the initial two circuits, before Brandon Waelti moved to the lead for two laps. Boorse regained the lead as the first four cars were less than three car lengths apart. Hatton moved under Boorse for the lead on the seventh lap.

On the thirteenth lap Hatton began lapping the tail of the field, and enjoyed a two second advantage over Boorse, who ran in second unchallenged. Hatton continued to increase his lead as he sliced through lapped traffic. Hatton held a 5.64 second advantage over Boorse at the finish. Waelti, fast qualifier A.J. Fike, and Jerry Coons rounded out the top five. Twenty of the starting field of twenty two cars finished the event.

Boorse leads Davey Ray by 209 points heading into the Friday July 20th event at the Grant County Speedway(Lancaster, WI). the series returns to Angell Park on July 22.
