DAVE BLANEY, NO. 20 AT&T PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

(ON IMPROVEMENT FROM PRACTICE) "We couldn't get it going in practice. They found a few things wrong with the car after practice was over. We had a big vibration in the car this morning and they found something wrong with the transmission drive shaft. We thought it would come around. We just went back to what we knew would qualify here and it was a pretty good lap. We're pretty happy, after this mornings practice we were going to be happy with anything in the top 15, so it worked out good."

(ON DOING WELL ON RACE DAY)"I hope so, we've got some awful good guys here racing - Mark (Martin), Jeff (Burton), and (Matt) Kenseth will probably be good all day. So if you can run with them all day and have a chance at the end you're going to be doing good."
