The Team: #59 Kingsford/Johnsonville Chevrolet, NASCAR Busch Series

The Race: Saturday, May 11, 2002 -- Busch 200 at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire -- 200 laps/211.6 miles

The Track: Since 1990 there have been 15 Busch Series races at New Hampshire International Speedway with 15 different winners. The track is 1.058 miles in length with 12 degrees banking in the corners and 2 degrees on the straights.

Compton at New Hampshire: Compton has been to New Hampshire four times as a NASCAR Winston Cup driver for Melling racing. His best Cup finish is 16th. As a NASCAR driver in the Craftsman Truck Series, Compton has four starts at New Hampshire. In 1999 he captured the pole position and finished the race in third-place.

Compton on New Hampshire: "Flat tracks have been good to me and Loudon is one of my favorites. I had a pole there in the truck series and have lead in laps a couple of times. They have made some changes in the track and you never know what to expect, but I'm sure it will be ok. It will be a slow weekend for me with only one race to run!"

Compton's Season:  With ten races completed, Compton is 7th in the point
standings.  He has two top-5 finishes and five top-10 finishes.

Crew Chief's Comments: "We will be taking the car we finished third in at California. The track is wider and has more banking than last year, so we will have to make adjustments after we get some laps in. At Loudon, you need to get good track position and keep air on the fenders."

Last Year at New Hampshire: Jason Keller won last year's race at New Hampshire International Speedway with a 2.286 second margin of victory over Kevin Harvick. The Bud Pole Award went to Kevin Harvick. The race had four cautions for 22 of the 200-lap event. There were five lead changes among five drivers.

Double Duty: In addition to his Busch Series ride, Compton is also running the full NASCAR Winston Cup Series schedule in the No. 14 Conseco Pontiac owned by A.J. Foyt Racing. He finished 26th last weekend in Richmond. The Winston Cup Series has the weekend off and will resume racing at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 26th.
