Dover: Lance Hooper qualifying notes

Hooper qualifies 25th in First Effort for Thorsport at Dover

Dover, Del. - Lance Hooper qualified the No. 13 Vassarette/Microtel Chevrolet in the 25th position for Friday's MBNA America 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover International Speedway. Hooper's fast lap of 24.220 seconds equates to 148.637 miles per hour on the one-mile high-banked concrete oval. It also equates to the No. 13 truck's best qualifying effort since the season opener at Daytona.

"This truck drives really good," Hooper said after qualifying. "It'scomfortable, and it handles really well. I think in race trim, handling will help a lot more on the long run and we should be in pretty good shape. Our goal for the race is to run all day and finish in the top-20. If we can run all 200 laps and stay out of trouble, we'll have a pretty good finish."

The MBNA America 200 from Dover International Speedway will be broadcast live on Speed Channel starting at 4 P.M. Eastern on Friday. The race will also be heard live on select MRN Radio afiliates nationwide as well as on NASCAR Radio 144 on XM Satellite radio.
