MATT KOBYLUCK WINS BUSCH POLE IN BID FOR BUSCH EAST SERIES REPEAT AT LIME ROCK PARK
LAKEVILLE, Conn. -- Matt Kobyluck began his bid for a repeat victory in Saturday's Mohegan Sun 200 NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series race on the Lime Rock Park road course by capturing his second Busch Pole Award of the season Friday afternoon. The Uncasville, Conn. driver whose car carries the colors of the race sponsor qualified with a speed of 101.057 miles per hour to edge Sunoco Rookie leader Ruben Pardo for the honor. Bryon Chew and Brian Hoar, who are battling for third in the series, earned positions on the second row in the 30-car field.
Mike Olsen, who needs only a 27th place finish to clinch his second Busch East Series title, qualified sixth with his only remaining rival, Sean Caisse, 10th fastest. In addition to Kobyluck, previous Lime Rock winners in the field are Brad Leighton (fifth) and Dale Quarterley (29th).
