LEWIS WINS BUD POLE FOR PLATT ELECTRIC 200

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (August 5, 2005) -- Gary Lewis won the Bud Pole Award for the Platt Electric 200. The NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series event is being held at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Lewis, of Bothell, Wash., completed a lap on 1/3-mile track in 14.146 seconds which translates to an average speed of 83.981 mph. It is the current championship point leader's second Bud Pole of the season and the 29th of his Northwest Series career.

Brandon Riehl was second quick with a time of 14.186 seconds (83.745 mph) followed by Jeff Barkshire at 14.189 seconds (83.727 mph).

Lewis randomly drew a 10 for the invert. There is a series-mandated six, eight or ten-car invert to start the race.

The 26-car field is expected to take the green flag at approximately 9:00 p.m. MDT for the Platt Electric 200.
