Vandergriff begins Sunday from No. 7 at Route 66

JOLIET, IL., (June 10, 2006)- Bob Vandergriff Jr. will begin the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals from the No. 7 position as elimination's begin Sunday morning at Route 66 Raceway. The UPS Top Fueler will attempt to give first round opponent Larry Dixon an early exit and send him on his way to Englishtown for next week's K&N Filters SuperNationals.

"We made a change in the tune-up after Friday night's 4.528 second pass and missed it on the setup," said Vandergriff. "We are content starting from the seventh position and are very happy to have lane choice. We will put the setup back where it was and hopefully go four rounds on Sunday. I hope that we will see everyone from the winner's circle tomorrow night."

As long as the moody Chicagoland weather cooperates, final elimination's are scheduled to begin at 11 AM.
