Vierheller Wins Comp; New Jersey Natives Stack Up at Atco Raceway

ATCO, N.J. -- Racing is complete and the winners have been crowned at the final Northeast divisional race of the season hosted at Atco Raceway and presented by PCRichards.com . New Jersey racers proved that home track advantage does play a factor as they took home five of the eight trophies. Northeast competitors made every possible effort to add last minute points to their totals in search for the divisional crown and a shot at the national championship.

Ray Vierheller III of Barberton, Ohio picked up the win Sunday in Comp Eliminator by defeating Charlie Greco, Berwyn, Pa., in the finals, marking his first win of the season. James Antonette Jr., New Hyde Park, N.Y., fell just short of his second win of the season as Herbie Null, Greencastle, Pa., posted a 9.892-second, 133.98 mph run to take the Super Stock title. Super Street was mastered by Frank Abad of Wading River, N.Y. this weekend by running 10.913 seconds, 127.92 mph right into the winner's circle.

New Jersey top finishers included Russell Linke, Old Bridge, in Stock Eliminator; Super Comp driver Tom Seemann of Little Falls; and Walter Olt, Medford, in Super Gas. Browns Mills resident Andre Brown was victorious in Top Dragster and Mark Parente of Englishtown, took home the Top Sportsman title.
