NORWALK, Ohio (June 30, 2007) -- On a track that Hillary Will, has had previous success, the 27-year-old driver hope that she can driver her KB Racing LLC-owned, Kalitta Motorsports-managed Top Fuel dragster to the Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park winner's circle at the inaugural Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals.
Will saved her best qualifying run until the final session when she ran a 4.661-second elapsed time, good for the No. 15 position on the final qualifying ladder for eliminations tomorrow.
"We happy we got into the show," said Will, who carries the associate sponsorship of event sponsor Summit Racing Equipment. "We wished that we would have qualified higher to get more points for the Techincoat NHRA Top Fuel Shootout but I'm confident entering eliminations tomorrow because my KB Racing team knows how to win here. Last year we won the IHRA World Nationals here at this track.
"It would be extra special if we could win here this year in front of family and friends that have make the trip to this newly renovated facility to watch us and my Kalitta Motorsports teammates race. I looked up in the grandstands before we ran our last qualifying pass and it was absolutely packed. There is a lot of excitement in the air here and I would love to add to that by getting our first NHRA win here tomorrow."
When eliminations get underway at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Will pulls the KB Racing LLC dragster to the starting line against Clay Millican. Millican recorded a pass of 4.538 seconds for the No. 2.
