The NHRA straight liners traveled from Pomona, Calif., to Chandler, Ariz., for the second race of the 2008 season in the POWERade Drag Racing Series.
Chicago Pneumatic supporters claimed the top five positions in qualifying for the 24th annual Checker Schuck's Kragen Nationals at Firebird International Raceway in the Pro Stock class on Saturday. Allen Johnson led the pack in the No. 1 position, with Greg Anderson, Warren Johnson, Kurt Johnson and Jason Line falling in line, respectively.
Following their win last week in Pomona, KB Racing placed another driver in the finals at Firebird International Raceway. In the final race of the day Jason Line took on V. Gaines, who beat his teammate and Pomona winner Greg Anderson in the quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon.
Unfortunately for Line, the outcome was all too familiar when his Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO tottered early in the run and he fell to Gaines' 6.702-second, 205.38 mph run.
