POMONA, Calif., Feb. 8, 2007 -- The good news following Thursday's opening round of the Carquest Winternationals was Cory McClenathan wound up in 10th place in the Carrier Boyz Racing FRAM/Torco Top Fuel dragster. But his 4.674-second effort at 317.05 mph used up engine parts and oiled the track.

"We ran out of fuel and the motor blew up," McClenathan explained. "That wasn't the way we wanted to start the season. We had perfect conditions for us to run in the 4.40s (seconds)."

Most of his frustration came from a long starting-line wait while Hillary Wills' crew fixed a leaking fuel line while his engine burned additional fuel.

"As it turned out, it was a horrible way to come out of the box," added McClenathan. "We have three more qualifying sessions and we'll just step it up on Friday.

"We are happy to have FRAM back with us. We have a great looking car and have added great sponsors in Lucas Oil and Nordic Boats.
