HERBERT QUALIFIES FOR QUICK FIELD

MOHNTON, Pa. (August 18, 2007) With less than .15 of a second separating the 16 car field, Doug Herbert, driver of the Snap-on Tools Top Fuel dragster, qualified in the No. 14 position at the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals.

Herbert's fastest pass of the weekend came in the first qualifying session on Saturday. Despite loosing the blower belt at the thousand foot mark, the Snap-on Tools rail car clocked the quarter-mile in 4.64 seconds at 295.14 mph.

"The first round will be a battle of the tool companies," said Herbert. "Rick Gray with Snap-on Tools has about a thousand guests here this weekend. Snap-on has a reputation for being the best in the business, and we plan on backing that up tomorrow.

"This is the first time we've come head to head with Doug Kalitta this season. We are good buddies, but when it's time race, it's time to race.

"We have a shot to get in the top eight, and that is exactly what we plan on doing."

Herbert will face Doug Kalitta in Sunday's opening round of eliminations.
