MOHNTON, Pa. (Sept. 17, 2004) - Persistent rain showers that began in the early afternoon and continued into the evening, forced NHRA officials to cancel Friday's two scheduled professional qualifying attempts at Maple Grove Raceway.

Two-time defending NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon, who posted a runner-up finish at Maple Grove Raceway during his Rookie of the Year campaign in 1995 behind the wheel of his Miller-backed dragster, looks to put himself in position to collect his first career victory at the eastern Pennsylvania race track and earn his 36th career NHRA Top Fuel victory on Saturday afternoon.

Professional qualifying for the 20th annual Lucas Oil Nationals is scheduled for noon and 3 p.m. (ET) on Saturday at Maple Grove Raceway.

ESPN2 will televise 60 minutes of qualifying highlights from the Lucas Oil Nationals at 4 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, Sept. 18 and show three hours of final eliminations coverage at 4 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, Sept. 19.
