TWICE A RUNNER-UP IN ST. LOUIS, TREBLE AIMS FOR WIN
BROWNSBURG, Ind. (April 26, 2010) - Two-time Pro Stock Motorcycle runner-up at Gateway International Raceway, in 2004 and 2009, Craig Treble is aiming for the winner's circle at this weekend's 14th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals at the track located just outside of St. Louis.
Treble re-joined Don Schumacher Racing this year, after a short stint with the team in 2008, to drive the Valvoline Suzuki. In three events so far, he's earned one semifinal and two quarterfinal finishes as he continues to adapt to the new ride.
"We're pretty excited about St. Louis," said Treble. "I've had a few good outings there, and after the last PSM race in Houston we tested the Valvoline Suzuki a little bit.
"It was fast, but, more importantly, it was very consistent, and that's something we've been lacking. We just haven't had enough seat time for me in this thing, or time to tune on it, tweak on it and do the things that we needed to do.
"We're getting caught up with the program now. The Valvoline Suzuki was pretty fast and very consistent in testing and that's what Steve (Tartaglia, crew chief) was going for more than anything. He was pleased, I was pleased, I got more seat time on the bike, and so we're really excited about St. Louis."
