TROPHYLITE trucks to have a Ford engine program...

The continued forward movement at TROPHYLITE is evident again with the announcement of the addition of an all new Ford power plant option. TROPHYLITE trucks will now be allowed to run a Ford engine option for the competitive spec truck race program. Carrying the spec truck racing program forward, the addition of the Ford Z-tech engine gives owners the choice to run the existing GM engine and body work or opt for the new Ford Z-tech engine and new Ford body work.

The TROPHYLITE trucks will maintain all of the other parts that competitors have been using in the trucks when choosing the Ford power plant. The TROPHYLITE team has been able to mate the new Ford engine to a standard TROPHYLITE engine adapter plate to fit the existing TROPHYLITE T-350 transmissions that they have enjoyed. The new Ford engines will also use the same engine management system that has been used all along. The Ford engines will also be tagged and sealed by Turnkey Engine supply in Oceanside California. Turnkey has been the TROPHYLITE engine supplier for the GM engines used in the TROPHYLITE trucks.

"I have had a long standing relationship with Ford Motor Company in my racing career. When I took over TROPHYLITE one of the first things I did was call Cliff Irey at Ford to find out what we could do to bring Ford into the program. We are excited about the new engine package and body work that give us the good old Ford and Chevy battles we all love. I believe that having the option will bring people to the TROPHYLITE series and will make the racing even better. We will work on the tuning package on the Ford engine to ensure that the Ford and GM engines are matched up for power and torque before we let the first Ford race in the series. This is a big step for TROPHYLITE and we will keep moving up and up from here." Said Greg Foutz about the new program.

Mike West from BBQ Island has place a deposit on the first Ford powered TROPHYLITE truck and it is being built at the TROPHYLITE shop now. He will campaign the truck in a few races in this 2010 season in preparation for next year. Look for his new Molten Orange Ford TROPHYLITE truck with the BBQ Island on it in the next couple of months.

Now we set our sites on round 2 of the 2010 General Tire TROPHYLITE Race Series at the General Tire Mint 400 on March 25-28th.....

TROPHYLITE is a spec off-road race truck that has its own General Tire TROPHYLITE race series for the off-road community. The TROPHYLITE trucks are spec trucks which means that all of the trucks must use the same parts and are heavily regulated to keep the costs in line. TROPHYLITE has been building and running the race series now for about 3 years and just crowned their most recent series champion Louis Chamberland.
