Michael Krumm:
Qualifying
Working through his usual program of development Michael qualified in
eighth position for Sundays race
"The position we achieved today, is not as good as I would have expected. But we are right at the limit with this and cannot find a better balance or performance. We are still using the same chassis from 1999 and I am sure that is starting to hurt us. There are a lot of newer cars and specs here now, so I will just push as hard as I can tomorrow as it is a long race and will probably see quite a few retirements." Michael commented Saturday evening.
Race
Michael made one place at the start and completed the first lap in
seventh position. Entering turn three on the second lap, a second gear
corner, Michael's throttle stuck wide open and he was catapulted off the
circuit and into retirement.
"My start was OK, I made one place but got blocked behind Narain who braked very early. Going into the second lap I felt the car was not bad and would have been able to make up several places before the pit-stops unfortunately we were out by the third corner." Michael commented.
