Cooper Series Drivers Get Extra Testing Time
ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. (March 3, 2004) - The Cooper Tires Championship Series today announced additional testing opportunities for all its competitors. The Cooper Series has booked a full test day at Road Atlanta and the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
In preparation for the Drift Atlanta race event, the Cooper Series will conduct a full day of testing April 22, 2004, at Road Atlanta. Exclusively for Formula Ford Zetec Championship, Formula SCCA Championship and Avon Sports 2000 Championship competitors, the test will feature hour-long sessions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The test, which replaces the limited test day on April 23, will give teams and drivers the opportunity to prepare for the second Cooper Series event of 2004.
The test at Mid-Ohio will take place June 2, 2004. Occurring just following the fourth event of the 2004 season, the test will provide teams and drivers vital track time on the technically demanding road course. Like Road Atlanta, the test at Mid-Ohio will feature hour-long sessions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Widely regarded as North America's premier training series, the Cooper Tires Championship Series offers the complete motorsports education, with emphasis on cost-effective racing. Racing throughout the United States and Canada, the Cooper Series will showcase the best young drivers from around the world on a challenging mix of racetracks.
The 2004 Cooper Tires Championship Series season gets underway March 16-18, 2004 at Sebring International Raceway. Racing at Sebring will be the Zetec Championship and the Formula SCCA.
