LIME ROCK, Conn. (May 23) - Derek Hill continues on his hot streak as he took the overnight pole following first round qualifying today for Memorial Days Barber Dodge Pro Series race at Lime Rock Park. Hill, coming off a win at Sebring, followed by a pole and win at Savannah last week, was quickest in morning practice with a :54.261, then knocked off another 61/1000s in the late afternoon qualifier. Andy Boss, out to redeem himself following his mental error at Savannah, is four-tenths further back. "The car is perfect, but the tracks going to be quicker tomorrow. I dont know if Im going to make any changes or not," Hill said. Points leader Rino Mastronardi could only manage sixth quickest time, six-tenths off of Hill. The first 12 drivers are covered by one second around Lime Rock Parks 1.53 miles. Final qualifying is set for noon time Saturday.
