SIGHTS SET ON WINNING THE CLASS E TITLE

One of the most enthusiastic teams in off road racing has its sights set on winning the Class E championship in this year's Absa Off Road Championship.

Thomas Rundle (22) and new co-driver Brian Roberts will campaign a rebuilt Barden Tyre Services Nissan Hardbody in this year's championship and are aiming high. Although missing the opening event of the season, the Nissan Dealer 400 in the Western Cape, the Rundle/Roberts combination is hoping to emerge as serious Class E title contenders.

"The vehicle has been rebuilt by Glyn Hall and his team at Nissan, and we are grateful for the assistance they have provided," said Rundle. "Most of the work revolved around strengthening the vehicle, and we are now looking forward to getting back into action.

"We are very excited about the Nissan's potential, and think we can upstage the more powerful Toyota entries."

Robert's, who is Rundle's cousin, takes over the co-driving duties after switching from karting to off road racing.

"It is Brian's first season in off road racing, but he has plenty of karting experience," said Rundle. "He is very passionate about his racing so it won't take him long to settle into the off road culture.

"We'll get along well in the vehicle and with a little luck we'll be challenging for the Class E title."
