HOUSTON (October 5, 2001) -- Due to inclement weather (rain, slick track conditions), the Trans-Am Series qualifying for the Texaco/Havoline Grand Prix of Houston has been postponed until Saturday, October 6, at 8:30 a.m. Central time. This afternoon's scheduled qualifying session was a practice session instead.
The Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup 11th and final race of the season will take place on Saturday, October 6, from 3:15 until 4:45 p.m. Central time. The race will be 60 laps on the 1.527-mile, 10-turn temporary street circuit for 91.62 miles.
The fastest times posted from two practice sessions today are as follows: #3 Paul Gentilozzi, Lansing, Mich. (#3 Johnson Controls/HomeLink Jaguar XKR), 1:13.412
