Norfolk schedule

Tidewater Sports Car Club, Ltd and Tire Centers Inc will be holding the 6th Vietnam Veterans Benefit Autocross on August 27 & 28 at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk VA at the same site where the Norfolk National Tour event was staged. The venue is a 16+ acre surface of concrete bordering the water of the Chesapeake Bay. Saturday will be a test & tune day for the drivers and their crews. Registration and tech inspection will open about 9:30 am with the track opening for "hot laps" about 11:00 am. Cars will be staged in groups of ten for 3 runs, then the next 10 cars in line will be given 3 runs, etc. Cars are allowed as many runs as they desire, time allowing. This should give us the ability to stage 200-300 runs prior to the 4 pm course closing, hopefully. Sunday's tech and registration will open at 8:30 am, with the drivers meeting at 9:30 am. The racing will get underway about 10:00 am. Make a left on 4th VIEW, and a right at the traffic light onto OCEAN VIEW AVE. Go straight onto TIDEWATER DRIVE. This will take you under Rt. 60. Make a right on GRANBY STREET. Go a few blocks and make a right on BAY AVE. This leads into NAS Gate 4. Coming from RT-13 Bay Bridge Tunnel, or up I-64 heading west, Stay on I-64 past the junction of I-564, heading for Hampton. Take the BAY AVE. exit. This will bring you to NAS Gate 4. Once in the base, turn right just after the gate, just on the far side of the McDONALDs, and go striaght until the STOP sign.
