PONCE INLET, FL - The All Star sprint car series is making preparations for their return to the high banks of Earl Baltes' Eldora Speedway in Rossburg on Thursday night Aug. 3 for the annual "Two Nights Before The Big One" racing program. A full All Star racing program of time trials, heats, a Commercial Truck and Trailer Dash and Georgia Marketing and Promotions B Main is scheduled, and the program will conclude with a 30 lap feature paying $5,000 to win. With All Star points leader Rodney Duncan and Kenny Jacobs locked in a tight points battle, this event is an important one, especially for points runner-up Jacobs, who is the defending champion of this event and who won the only other All Star race at Eldora in 2000, the $10,000 Ohio Speedweek finale. Following Thursday's action, the open competition Historical Big One, paying $100,000 to win, is scheduled for Saturday night Aug. 5 at Eldora.
