The Angola Speedway in Angola IN will host the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series Sunday evening August 31. The winged warriors of the AVSS will be making there one and only appearance at the fast 3/8-mile oval.
The winner of last years show was Tom Fedewa of Leslie MI the current AVSS point leader and leading winner with 8 feature wins in the first 16 shows this season. A full program of AVSS Hamilton Trucking qualifications will take place, 3-4 heat races, a 12 lap B-main and a 30 lap main event for the 20 best to make the feature Sunday night. This Labor Day weekend extravaganza will begin with pit gates opening at 2 CST, hot laps at 4, qualifying at 5:30 and racing at 7. The battle continues for the 2003 national championship as the amount of races wind down for the year. The current point leader Tom Fedewa has a slim 18 point lead over Jason Blonde of Litchfield MI who has four wins this year. The best-winged sprint car drivers on asphalt in the country will battle it out to be the fastest man at Angola this Sunday night. All the greatest AVSS stars will be there including the top ten in points, T.Fedewa, Blonde, Jeff Bloom of Bangor MI, Brian Lay of Millbury OH, Kevin Feeney of Oxford MI, Gary Fedewa Holt MI, Kevin Newton Terre Haute IN, Ryan Katz Battle Creek MI, Curt Shumaker Ortonville MI and Johnboy Hotchkiss Potterville MI. Also expected are 2002 AVSS champion Tim Cox Park City IL, 2002 rookie of the year Jimmy McCune Sylvania OH, Hank Lower Angola IN and Bill Tyler Parma MI and many others.
