The Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne IN will host the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series for the final time in 2003 this Saturday evening. The last of four AVSS events at the fast ½ mile oval will begin with hotlaps at 3, Hamilton Trucking qualifying at 5 and racing at 7c.s.t.
The high powered winged warriors of the AVSS have had three incredible shows at Tom Isch's speedplant and this Saturday's will be no exception. In the first three AVSS shows at Baer Field the car counts have been incredible with 28,33 and 33 cars. This Saturday should be more of the same.
The first race had Jason Blonde taking the honors, race two had rookie Brian Lay winning and Blonde came back to take the third AVSS event at Baer Field. The best in winged asphalt sprintcar racing will be happening this Saturday evening. The top ten in AVSS points are all expected to attend. They include Leslie MI driver Tom Fedewa who has six feature wins in the first 12 AVSS races this season, Blonde who has three wins this year and third place point man Jeff Bloom who is still looking for AVSS win number one this year. Also expect Kevin Newton, Kevin Feeney, Gary Fedewa, Lay, Ryan Katz, Curt Shumaker and Johnboy Hotchkiss. Among other driver expected to enter include two-time AVSS champion Bill Tyler, Warsaw IN veteran Denny England, 2002 AVSS rookie of the year Jimmy McCune, Hank Lower and many others.
The action begins at 7c.s.t. at Baer Field this Saturday night so please come out and see who is going to win the last AVSS race of the season at Baer Field.
