The Midwest Sprint Car Series is back in business for the 2001 season. The series has rebounded under new management for the 2001 under new acting president and head of operations, Brian Madsen. The 2001 MSS season had been in doubt since founder and President Chuck Priefer announced in early December that he would have to step away from the burgeoning series for the upcoming season due to other obligations.
Madsen, who has been involved in racing for years as a driver, promoter, and most recently as a car owner for Johnny Parsons III, has taken the helm and is currently busy putting together a 10-12 race schedule for the series at speedways throughout Minnesota, Eastern Wisconsin, and Northern Iowa. At a meeting last Saturday night, Madsen and several MSS drivers expressed their interest in maintaining the growth of the series in the absence of Priefer for the 2001 season.
The MSS will be making announcements concerning the 2001 schedule as soon as the details are available and firm.
