Jason Shultz and Mike Sayers Jr. showed for the second race in a row that they had the cars to beat as the two battled for the lead with Jason Shultz topping the field in the closing laps of the caution free feature event.
The evening started with heat race wins by Dick Stevens and Jason Shultz. Buddy Parker and Mike Sayers jr. headed the grid with Sayers leading early leaving Parker to battle with Pete Kingrea and Jerald Harris for second but closing on the trio was Dan Harman, Jason Shultz, Tim Hamlet and Bill Rice. Shultz was able to work his way through the traffic by half way and now had his sights set on Sayers, Dan Harman was also on the way leaving a pack of five cars racing for fourth .
On lap seventeen Shutz caught Sayers and the two put on a spirited race for the lead with Jason Shultz taking the spot on lap twenty and going on for the win despite Sayers closing on the last two laps to make it a close finish.
Following Sayers it was Dan Harman, Pete Kingrea, Tim Hamlet, Jerald Harris, Bill Rice, John Johnson, Buddy Parker, Dick Stevens, Charlie Kingrea, John Wheaton, Wayne Jones, Jimmy Hiner, Bronze Lawson, French Grimes and George Johnston. Saturday night the VSS returns to Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda Virginia
