STaSIS Engineering Running Three Cars at Laguna Seca

Memo Gidley to Drive New B6 Chassis With Mahle Powertrain Turbo Engine

Sonoma, California (October 10, 2005) STaSIS Engineering is set to run three Audi A4 cars in the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car season finale in Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this Sunday, October 16th. STaSIS will field two Audi A4 racecars in the B5 chassis with 1.8 liter turbo charged Mahle Powertrain engines. These Audis will be piloted by STaSIS regulars fast Freddie Baker in the #18 car and rookie John Angelone in the #19 car. Fresh off a mention in the November 2005 issue of Car and Driver magazine, pro racer Memo Gidley joins the STaSIS team in a new Audi A4 in a B6 chassis also powered by a Mahle Powertrain 1.8 liter turbo engine.

The Mahle Powertrain turbo engine design was broken in by Freddie Baker at Grand Prix of Mosport outside of Toronto, Ontario. The engine performed admirably at Mosport with Baker qualify in 8th position 0.7 seconds off the pole. These engines replace the naturally aspirated V6 engines STaSIS ran previous to Mosport.

The SPEED World Challenge Touring Car season finale can be seen with same day coverage on SPEED TV at 6:00PM Eastern Sunday, October 16th.
