The final seminar concerning the Vortec Red engine will be held at the Farm Youth Building on the grounds of Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, September 18. The program will start at 8 a.m. (Central), preceding ASA practice and qualifying for the ACDelco RapidFire 300.
The sessions are designed to familiarize current and future competitors with the Vortec Red engine package and its components.
This session will include a summary of the two previous seminars and include 200 rulebook updates concerning hubs, wheels, front bumpers, fuel cells, etc. Information regarding placement of orders for the Vortec Red engine will also be made available.
Project 2000 test drivers Gary St. Amant, Rick Johnson, Jimmie Johnson, Rick Beebe and Ted Smokstad, along with crew chief Bill McGowan will all be on-hand for a question and answer session. Representatives from ASA chassis builders will also be in attend ance to answer any questions. Others planning on attending include GM Motorsports’ Dan Engle, Bill Howell of Howell Engine Development and Steve Moore of K-Tech.
Additional times and info for the seminar will be posted in the official ASA web site at www.asaracing.com and will be distributed in competitor bulletins.
