Johnny Miller, driver of the No. 64 Automationdirect/Eaton Cutler-Hammer Jaguar XKR, Was fourth quickest in the first Trans-Am practice session with a time of 1:13:465.

NOTE 1 - BACKGROUND STATS...Ranks third in the points standings...Has three top-three finishes, four top-five finishes, and eight top-ten finishes in nine starts...In 2001, finished a career-best third in the points standings, after ranking first or second most of the season...In 2001,had five top-three finishes and completed every lap of every race...Earned the Owners' Championship for Rocketsports...Has 30 career top-five finishes...In 2000, scored his first career Trans-Am win at San Diego...Voted "Most Improved Driver" for 1998...Won the "Rookie of the Year" title in 1996.

On his first practice session on the new Miami circuit... "Sure was a lot of traffic out there - it seemed like just another in Miami morning traffic. I really only caught a couple of decent laps. When I went to regroup and go run for a couple of fast laps, I caught traffic and ran out of time.

"All in all, the car felt pretty good right out of the box. The track is still so green. By the time we go back out late this afternoon, I think the track will come to us a bit. So we don't really want to make any aggressive changes at this point until we get more comfortable with how the track will act.

"This is track is an interesting combination of corners. Some corners are really fast and feel really good , but others you just seem to slide it a lot and hope you don't kiss the walls. It also quite narrow which forces you to be very precise. If you aren't and one cars wrecks, it'll take four or five others cars with it."
